Biophilia is a new trend that incorporates human design and natural elements.

The Origins

In 1984 Edward Wilson, an American biologist wrote a book Biophilia explaining that humans have an innate tendency to seek and form connections with nature.

Well, it’s impossible not to agree with that. I am sure that each of us can experience only benefit when we are in close contact with nature and definitely suffer if we are excluded from it.

What is biophilic design?

The term Biophilia literally translates into a ‘love of nature’.

In the design world, Biophilic design translates as a set of principles that allow us to reconnect with the outside world, whether it’s directly from plants and greenery, through natural textures, materials, colors or with patterns and forms we recognize from nature.

Recycled wood can be used for chairs, tables and floors, while plants can contribute to your home organic aesthetic while promoting a clean and environmentally friendly home.

2020 is all about giving back to nature.

By consciously including nature in interior or architectural design, we are unconsciously reconnecting, bringing the great outdoors into our constructed world.

Another perfect place where you can use Biophilic design is your Bathroom.

Bathroom is the space where we can rejuvenate, meditate and focus just on ourselves.

Here is a tip, by placing some plants that loves warmth and humidity will completely transform the space, make us feel close to nature and the time we spend in the bathroom will become even more therapeutic.
